During the month April, we are raising funds for Good Night Sleep Tight, our children’s bed ministry. We have given away over 500 beds to kids in the Tulsa area. It costs about $235 to provide a mattress, boxspring and bed frame for one child. We also accept donations of new comforter and bedding sets for kids of all ages. Using Psalm 4:8 as the guiding mission, the Good Night Sleep Tight ministry provides new twin beds and linens to children who don’t have a bed of their own. Our purpose is to recognize and address the physical need for sleep, which provides a sense of comfort, rest, and peace. Through this coordinated demonstration of God’s love and provision we will bring smiles and comfort to children and families. The program’s focus is to serve families that are part of the local elementary schools, Darnaby and Jenks East. We also work with ministry partners of Faith UMC. With the help of school officials and social workers, we will identify children who need beds. Twin bed sets are purchased by the church through a special arrangement with the Mattress Firm Clearance Store.
