We Are Dynamic!

I realize what a solid community we are through the many things that happened within us last Sunday. We heard a message of God from Faith’s 2nd pastor, Rev. Steven Spradling. This was very meaningful to us. As Pastor Heather mentioned in her blog two weeks ago, we are having so many kids in the nursery we have the happy problem of how to take care of them well.

Thank you for holding a baby shower last Sunday for our Young Adult minister, DeRon Gabriel and his wife Olivia, as well as Tae Soon and myself. We are expecting 3 new babies in June at Faith! The increasing number of newborn babies means that there are a growing number of young families in our church.

Two weeks ago, at Faith Welcome, we welcomed those who had joined or visited our church during the past quarter. It is a great blessing for me to be part of this dynamic, God-worshipping community of all generations, from babies to adults.

Many members were curious about Pastor Heather’s absence. She left on vacation last Saturday to go to Italy! Before her vacation, she planned and prepared everything and then emailed those details to staff and volunteers. We are using this as a manual, but no matter how well-prepared her manuals are, they aren’t the same as having her with us! (I hope Pastor Heather doesn't misunderstand, she needs a vacation!)

Similarly, there is nothing like being with Jesus always. Beyond believing in the person who came to this earth 2,000 years ago, Jesus is still with us. The Bible should not remain as a story or lesson from the past. The Word should be alive in us and the will of God must be realized for all of us living in the present. I hope that the resurrection of Jesus will not stay an amazing event in the past, but a living hope for in the present.
