New Staff, Backpacks, Block Party and more!
Oh my goodness, what a full weekend we have. Tonight we will be enjoying live music, eating free snow cones and not having to worry about making dinner or being on a waiting list in a restaurant because we have food trucks. Everyone knows that they have the very best fresh food! I hope you will join us and bring your friends and neighbors to just celebrate life. We have shade tents, and water stations and inflatables for exercise for all ages. Bring a lawn game if you are willing to share it. I brought yard yahtzee and botchee ball from our house.
We are also celebrating filling some of our staffing positions. Linda is elated because Macy Land has agreed to step in as our part time Office Manager. Macy has church experience that came with excellent references and we feel blessed that she has chosen to work alongside us. Our other new employee is DeRon Gabriel, and he comes to us from the OKC area and his brand new wife is from the Tulsa area. They have been married two weeks and are still in the process of moving in. We will introduce them in worship on Sunday and DeRon will be focused on ministry with Young Adults.
While we celebrate those who are new, we also want to remember Alicia Berry who has worked in our nursery for the last 14 years. She had a beautiful baby boy last year and is resuming teaching this semester. Alicia has decided to focus on her baby and step away from taking care of all the other babies in our congregation. This Sunday you have the opportunity to celebrate her with a thank you card, gift of appreciation or words of blessing down in the children’s area. We give thanks for the faithfulness of Alicia and offer her every joy in her transition.
Lastly, this Sunday we will blessing the students and the teachers at 10:00 am in the Great Hall. Gather with us for about 10 minutes and then go to your Sunday school classes. We have backpack tags for every student and will say a prayer for every teacher. We have a lot of teachers here at Faith and will be asking them if they need supplies for their classroom very soon. Look for more information about this mission project.
Can’t wait to see everyone tonight!
